The construction of OBO Bettermann’s new locksmith plant was carried out in 2019 by Market Építő Zrt. in Bugyi, within the company’s industrial park. The company, which has an international background in the production and distribution of electrical installation materials, chose Market Építő for the third time as the contractor for its own industrial facility, reflecting the long-term, reliable cooperation between the two companies.
The Hungarian subsidiary was established in Bugyi 27 years ago and has since become a major economic player in the region and one of its most important employers.
The project started with the demolition of the existing, obsolete building and the construction of a new, single-storey crane equipped hall with a floor area of 2,500 square metres on the vacated site. In addition to the modern factory space, a two-storey internal social block was built to provide comfort and service for the workers.
The hall was constructed using precast reinforced concrete elements, including 10-metre-high columns with sleeve necks and five precast reinforced concrete main beams of 12 metres in length, to ensure structural stability and wide internal spans.
The construction work was carried out under the supervision of the general contractor and in coordination with more than 30 partner companies. Market Építő Zrt. completed the project in half a year, on time and to a high quality standard. The advanced structural solutions of the hall building, including the long span supporting structure and the Schüco aluminium system of windows and doors, ensure efficient and sustainable operation for OBO Bettermann in the long term.
