The Bosch Budapest Innovation Campus, inaugurated in autumn 2022, is home to a total of 1,800 new-generation workplaces. The complex also includes a 14,000 m² instrumented research and test laboratory, a special outdoor test track and a high-tech test hall to serve the company’s wide-ranging technological developments.
In addition to the 8-storey main building, the project also included the construction of a car park, two laboratory buildings and an energy centre. The new building plays a crucial role in the development of automated and electric mobility and will be one of the most significant vehicle electronics research, development, and testing centres of the Bosch Group.
A key feature of the campus is the 10,000 m² instrumented test track with unique facilities, where ultrasonic, radar and camera-based driver assistance systems for future vehicles can be measured and fine-tuned under controlled conditions on a wide range of road surfaces in a variety of simulation scenarios.
In the test hall, which can accommodate several trucks simultaneously, precision giant measuring chambers will be used to develop and test the passenger and commercial vehicles. The campus also uses renewable energy sources and high-efficiency heat pump systems as the primary cooling and heating solution, which will be complemented in the future by solar systems. The heat generated by the test systems in the research and development area will also be reused for heating and hot water supply.
