The Prologis Park Budapest–Sziget facility in Szigetszentmiklós is one of Hungary’s most significant logistics hubs, playing a key role in both domestic and international distribution networks thanks to its outstanding location. Situated within the Leshegy Industrial Park, the development lies a mere 17 kilometres from central Budapest, with direct access to the M0 motorway, ensuring swift connections to the M1, M5 and M7 motorways as well as to the international airport.
As general contractor, Market Építő Zrt. participated in the construction of four separate warehouse halls at four different times across the park. Guided by years of accumulated professional expertise and Prologis’s stringent international quality expectations, each building has been realised as a model of contemporary, energy-efficient and highly adaptable industrial space.
With a floor area of 20,589 m² the DC5 building was completed between September 2007 and March 2008, while the two units of DC7 – halls A (21,012 m²) and B (7,029 m²) – were built between November 2007 and May 2008. The DC6 building, with a floor area of 7,650 m², was completed between May and December 2008, while the latest development, DC8, with a floor area of 13,999 m², was started in November 2016 and completed in April 2017.
One of the park’s most notable features is the DC6 building, designed with sustainability in mind and awarded a BREEAM “Good” certification. It boasts a column-free warehouse floor, side loading ramps for lorries and light commercial vehicles, and transverse loading docks with a clear internal height of six metres.
Market Építő Zrt. ensured high technical standards, precise execution and reliable project management in all phases of the project. The warehouses of Prologis Park Budapest–Sziget stand as exemplary showcases of modern logistics infrastructure and sustainable construction principles, contributing to the long-term development of Hungary’s industrial property market.
