Market Group is building a new, nearly 18,000 m² food logistics centre for HAVI Logistics Kft. in Alsónémedi, which will take the capacity and sustainability of the company’s international supply chain to a new level. The development is intended not only to expand storage capacity, but also to create high-quality working conditions for employees and to support environmentally conscious and efficient logistics operations. The project was launched with a ceremonial ground-breaking in November 2024 and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026, meeting the most stringent food logistics standards and serving the company’s growing needs.
The facility, designed by Lean Tech Mérnökiroda, will serve multiple functions: cold storage, dry goods warehouse and office building. The construction requires a particularly high degree of professional precision, as different temperature zones must be created, which also determine the order of construction.
The interior solutions deserve special attention:
Environmental protection is a key consideration in the project. The facility is applying for BREEAM “Very Good” certification. Heating is partly based on heat recovered from the cooling systems, and the energy supply is supplemented by solar panels. With the involvement of ecologists and landscape architects, experimental bee pastures and extensive grassing will be created in the vicinity of the site, which will reduce water consumption and promote biodiversity.
For HAVI, the new centre not only means an expansion of its logistics capacity, but also a sustainable, modern and people-centred facility that will create value in the long term.
