Deufol’s South-East European regional hub and logistics packaging facility was constructed in the southern industrial park of Debrecen, close to the international airport. The development occupies a 15-hectare site and comprises 60,000 m² of built-up floor area. The plant incorporates state-of-the-art automated packaging technology, including a bespoke packaging line nearly 50 metres in length, designed to ensure highly efficient production. Market Építő Zrt. participated in the project as general contractor.

The works included the construction of the entire hall structure in monolithic reinforced concrete, using 1,000 m³ of concrete and 53 tonnes of steel, together with the installation of 596 precast reinforced-concrete elements. A further 67 tonnes of steel structure was erected above the concrete skeleton. We installed all mechanical and electrical building services for the hall, as well as the external infrastructure and utilities networks. More than 50 subcontractor partners were involved – many of them local firms in the region – and the project was completed to a high standard, in line with the programme, in under a year.

Deufol manufactures packaging materials, pallets and aluminium barrier bags and the facility also accommodates large-scale industrial packaging with automated processes, including the use of high-capacity cranes. The hall has an average internal ceiling height of 10.2 metres, and the sapling placed during the topping-out ceremony will form part of the landscaped garden belonging to the industrial hall. The new factory is a prominent feature of the Debrecen industrial park and a key component of Deufol’s global logistics and packaging network.
