The first European factory of Apollo Tyres was built in Gyöngyöshalász, Hungary, on an area of more than 72 hectares, by Market Építő Zrt. The plant is one of the most modern tyre manufacturing units in East-Central Europe, built as a fully greenfield project, and was designed to integrate the most state-of-the-art technologies and ensure sustainable and efficient operations.
The factory complex covers more than 100,000 square metres of production space, where around 5.5 million passenger car tyres and 675,000 truck tyres are manufactured every year. Special engineering and production technology solutions have been used during construction, with particular attention to energy efficiency and future scalability.
The construction of the production buildings was carried out in several phases:
- Between April 2015 and September 2017, the PCR building group was constructed for the production of passenger car tyres,
- Between April 2016 and April 2018, the TBR building group was completed, which will be used for the production of truck tyres,
- Between November 2021 and May 2022, the Apollo FGS2 project was completed, which included the expansion of the logistics warehouse for finished goods,
- A further expansion of the production hall started in February 2025 and is expected to be completed in December 2025.
The Apollo Tyres factory consists of two parts: a 200 m² office block and a 9,100 m² warehouse area for storing tyres. Special attention was given to sustainability during the design process. The area around the building was landscaped, adding 3,500 m² of green space to the site.
