The Aurea Ana Palace Hotel is located in the heart of Budapest, in the V. district (Belváros-Lipótváros), at 15 and 17 Akadémia Street. The hotel is a unique combination of two buildings from different periods: the neoclassical-style residence built in 1847 and the palace built in 1895 for representative purposes. The 107-room, five-star hotel stands out from other Budapest hotels not only because of its location but also because of its unique atmosphere. The hotel was designed to preserve and reinterpret historical values, while fully meeting the technological and comfort requirements of today.

The interior design concept focuses on the evocation of the past, which runs throughout the hotel. The corridors are lit exclusively from the edges of the gold-framed doors of the rooms and from behind the room numbers above the doors, giving the spaces a mysterious yet elegant atmosphere, as if you were walking through the corridors of a regal palace. The most spectacular unit of the hotel is the generously restored two-storey former ballroom, which now operates as the restaurant. The huge semi-circular windows, the caryatids ending in balcony-like galleries, the curved lines of the orchestra box and the original multi-level chandelier combine to evoke the opulence of the imperial court without resorting to modern additions, while preserving the historical milieu.

The construction of the Aurea Ana Palace Hotel involved a demand for delicate and precise work: restoring the historic elements, harmonising the two buildings and integrating the most modern mechanical, energy and hotel technology systems all required a high level of professional attention. The end result is an extremely elegant, historically authentic, yet functionally modern hotel, which is a worthy representation of the architectural treasures of Budapest.

Architectural and construction highlights

The main façade, with its imposing triple gateway motif, is decorated with Corinthian columns in timpanos.

In addition to the restoration of the façade to its original style, contemporary elements (e.g. dark grey glass gateway arch) are discreetly integrated.

The two-storey ballroom is restored, preserving the original chandelier, semicircular windows and columned gallery, convincingly reflecting the opulence of the imperial court.

Inside, the corridors with gold-framed doors and subdued lighting evoke the atmosphere of the imperial residences.

The basement courtyard has been opened up to allow natural light into the wellness area.
