The construction of the cathode material plant of Bamo Technology Hungary Kft. in Acs, Hungary, started in the first half of 2024 under the construction of Market Építő Zrt. and the general design of Óbuda Group. The total value of the investment is HUF 520 billion. The project will include the construction of a 100,000 square metre plant that will produce 50,000 tonnes of cathode material annually for electric vehicle batteries.
The structural works of the first phase of the hall (GC1) will involve the installation of 30,267 prefabricated elements in a short time. Currently, 6 tower cranes and 16 mobile cranes are working on site, two with a lifting capacity of 500 tonnes and one with a lifting capacity of 450 tonnes. Trial production is expected to start in the second half of 2025.
Market Építő Zrt. is carrying out the structural works for half of the CATL central production hall in Debrecen (75,000 m2), as well as the construction of 4 smaller technology buildings and a larger production hall (20,000 m2) in the project area. The HUF 3000 billion investment is the largest industrial development in Hungary to date and will create 9,000 new jobs. The project will include a 500×160 m section of a building of nearly 80,000 m2 with a height of 27 m at its highest point.
The Market Group will carry out the static earthworks (OKM), the monolithic reinforced concrete structure (Moratus), the lightning protection (Vilati), the steel structure installation and the prefabricated structures (PREbeton). MCM Beton’s mobile concrete mixing plant will supply the required quantities of concrete. Construction started in H2 2022 and production is scheduled to start in 2025.
China’s Sunwoda is to build its first European battery factory in Nyíregyháza, in the Déli Industrial Park, with an investment of HUF 580 billion. The plant will run on 90% recycled waste water and will have its own solar farm to provide renewable energy. Sunwoda Mobility Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (SEVB) is building the most advanced lithium-ion battery plant to date, which will supply Europe’s automotive industry. Construction, which is currently underway, started in 2024, with earthworks being carried out by OKM Kft, a subsidiary of Market
Construction Ltd. The project is being carried out in a sustainable manner, as a solar farm will also be installed to ensure that the plant will be powered mainly by renewable energy, reducing the environmental impact.
Market Építő Zrt. is building the first plant outside China for the Chinese company Chervon Auto in Miskolc, in the Mechatronics Industrial Park. The project started in October 2021, and the construction of the 30,000 square metre production hall will be completed with an investment of more than EUR 100 million. The plant will create 260 new jobs in the Northern Hungary region.
The complex will comprise three hall sections, a machining hall, a press shop, a high-bay warehouse, a two-storey office building and service buildings. The plant will support automotive production with high-tech equipment and play an important role in the company’s expansion in Europe.
The Semcorp factory in Debrecen was built by Market Építő Zrt. on an area of 97,000 square metres in the southern industrial park. Construction started in August 2021 and production started in the first quarter of 2024.
The Shanghai-based company is a leading manufacturer of separator films for electric car batteries. The plant’s four production lines produce 400 million square metres of separator foil per year, creating 440 jobs. They supply partners such as LG, Samsung and Panasonic. The investment has received state aid of HUF 13 billion.
